Living in the Northeast isn’t conducive to year-round golf, but those who are immersed in the sport find ways to keep swinging.

One such player is Hayden Knapp, the South Glens Falls freshman who has been selected as the Times Union girls’ golf Athlete of the Year.

Hayden Knapp of South Glens Falls hits her approach shot on the 13th hole Friday, Oct. 18, 2024, in the Section II girls’ golf championship at Hiland Park in Queensbury. Knapp, a freshman, shot a 36-hole score of 143 to earn medalist’s honors by eight strokes.
